An Approach That Works
2nd Street is the Hub
2nd Street coordinates a myriad of services, on site and within the community, at a convenient and welcoming one-stop facility.
Prior to a person being released from the Berkshire County House of Corrections, they are made aware of the services provided at 2nd Street. The first 72 hours after release are critical to the client’s success. Our Community Resource Navigators connect with them to assess their needs. Services and referrals are provided regardless of how long ago incarceration took place and include:
- Medical
- Mental health
- Substance use disorder services
- Financial resources and literacy
- Transportation
- Family reunification
- Housing
- Employment
- Job Training
- Legal services
- Support and encouragement
The staff at 2nd Street works with each client to develop an individualized reentry plan.
